Michael McDaniel is the Director of Maintenance for Raven Transport. In this role, Mike manages a team providing all aspects of Fleet Maintenance. With more than 28 years of transportation maintenance experience, Mike is no stranger to what it takes to keep a fleet of vehicles running and properly maintained.
Michael earned a degree in Auto/Diesel Technology from UNOH, and has worked his way through the ranks from mechanic, to shop supervisor, service manager, and then Director. He has earned certifications as a State Heavy Duty Truck mechanic, ASE school bus technician, along with several OEM diagnostic and repair courses. Mike also holds a class “A” CDL and has driven all different types of vehicles from farm tractors, construction equipment, school buses, wreckers, and dump trucks, to tractor trailers.
After several years of “turning wrenches” Mike decided to turn his attention toward management, and soon earned a role as Transportation Director for his local school district, as well as overseeing all special education transportation for the entire county. He then was offered a great opportunity that moved him and his family from their birthplace in Michigan to Nashville, TN. Michael worked with a couple large carriers in key managerial roles within the maintenance department, alongside some very knowledgeable colleagues for 6 years before accepting the position as Director of Maintenance at Raven Transport and has continued to learn and grow as the company has done the same.
